QBX: QuarterbackPassing Academywas originally created with a very specific focus...the training and development of youth to high school Quarterbacks.  While QBs training with other QBs has proven to show great training results, it is the opinion of QBX that training through a Passing Academy atmosphere would prove even more successful.  New in 2012 QBX will introduce the addition of Wide Receiver, Line Backer and Defensive Back training.  The premise is simple: Athletes learn best in real time situations and in a competitive environment.

With the widely used Spread Offensive systems quarterbacks and receivers have to be more efficient than ever.  QB mechanics, footwork, defensive recognition and QB/WR timing are imperative.  WR routes, gaining defensive separation, ball catching consistency and WR/QB timing are essential.  On the defensive side of the ball the 2nd level (Linebackers) and 3rd level (corners and Safeties) are being tested.  The secondary must be able to play man coverage, defend a zone, and tackle in space.  Linebackers, not only have to defend against the run, but they too have to be able to defend against athletic wide receivers in space.  QBX will prepare these young men for the tempo and speed of the game.

Training with QBX will be implemented in several different phases.  Each position will receive individual skill specific training as well as group training.  All will culminate in high speed 7-on-7 situations.  We at QBX truly believe that the best way for players to improve their game is to be placed in situations that mimic “game speed” and “pressured situations”.

QBX  MISSION: To provide our Football Players with the necessary tools for successful development. Through a detailed, informative, individualized, and focused program it is our goal for our student-athletes to walk away having had a valuable experience and be ready to compete at their level of play.

QBX works in collaboration with the indoor training facilities of the MVP Sports Factory of Wake Forest.

QBX is proud to introduce the use of V1 Digital Coaching System for the training of our Quarterbacks.  QBs that attend our programs will have the opportunity to have their throwing motion, drops, etc.  filmed and reviewed using the digital coaching technologies of the V1 Sports system.

Testimonials:

  • from a HS head coach:   "Thanks again Rob.  I was impressed with the camp and your level of detail.  I have already recommended the camp to others."

  • "We were very pleased with the camp last weekend especially with the ever important foot work required of players today.  Too often, coaches concentrate on the mechanics of throwing or drop backs in training quarterbacks, however, both can be better achieved through proper footwork.  This is our 4th different type of quarterback camp we have attended over the years, and this one by far exceeded the expectations of the quarterback position in regards to footwork and body positioning.  My Son had a great time and the coaches were very knowledgeable, friendly, and kept the interest of the campers."

  • “I would recommend Rob Clark’s QB Training Academy for boys that are serious about learning the proper mechanics and essentials to becoming a better QB.  My son and I were impressed with the hands-on approach of the coaches and the drills learned during the camp that can be applied to a routine workout regime which will certainly better position those attending QBX camps.  This 2 day camp was a great value and one that I would recommend to other boys aspiring to learn what it takes to be the best at this key position.”

  • "My son enjoyed your camp very much, and is really excited about the new things that he has learned. I was very impressed with you and your staffs' organization and attention to detail, as well as creating a fun and comfortable learning environment for the boys. As a father I  would recommend your camp to others."

  • "When it comes to sports related camps I am very hard to please.  I have found many to have too many participants, with not enough coaches, which results in kids standing around, goofing off, and not getting anything out of it. The Carolina Young Guns QBS camp was quite the opposite.  The number of participants to coach ratio was perfect.  You kept the kids busy, moving them along quickly from drill to drill, keeping their attention level very high; on two very hot days.  The camp was very well planned out and 4 hour duration was perfect.  I think my son benefited greatly from the camp."

  • "I was very impressed with both the level of instruction, and the level of patience demonstrated by the coaches.  He took a long time to get the mechanics down, and I know I will continue to work with him this summer on keeping his elbow up (just for starters!).  All that said, I noticed a marked improvement in his throwing later that night and the next morning as we tossed the ball.  He indicated that Saturday was equally as valuable.  I think he’ll be in much better shape going into the season than he would have been otherwise.  Thank you."

  • "My son had a great experience and learned a lot from the OB School.    You guys did an outstanding job teaching in a way that can be remembered.  He has played a lot of baseball and has a good arm, but I was amazed at how much his velocity , distance and accuracy increased when you guys showed him how to properly throw a football using your hips and lower body."
